Tucker's Funeral Home, Inc. was the vision of Alphanse
A. Tucker, Sr. At an early age, his dream was to become a licensed mortician and
own and operate a funeral home. His dream started to become a reality in 1965
when he graduated from McAlister American Academy in Brooklyn , N. Y. where he
studied mortuary science. In 1967, he received his funeral directors
and embalmers license. He was employed at several funeral homes in the area, but
his dream was to own and operate a funeral home. In 1968, the ground breaking
ceremony was held for the construction of Tucker's Funeral Home at 415 Halifax
Street , Petersburg , VA. In 1969, the Tucker's Funeral Home building
was completed and was opened for business. The funeral home prides itself with
Service With Dignity, Honor and Good Will.
